Today

I did something I rarely do. I prayed. It was so hard this morning to send my kids to school. I hugged each one, told them I love them. I can't even imagine what those parents are going through. They are in my prayers

A day in life.

Sundays. We have adopted a family tradition. Sundays are pasta days ( Wednesdays too. Sound familiar anyone?). So on Sundays I make sauce and bread. Yummy

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Ours was spent with family. This little one ate all day. This is one of the few pictures of him where he is a) facing the camera b) not try to walk or crawl away and c) he is smiling. Granted he smiles a lot but usually he is moving so much he's blurry ( I guess that could be d )

Car knitting

With the waiting in gas lines (thankfully no longer) and waiting to get the kids from school I have minutes here and there in the car to knit. This is my project. It's a scarf. Easy knit, doesn't need the pattern. It is growing slowly, though the gas lines did give it a huge boost in growth. I am on section 6 of 8

Bed head with out the bed

MJ loves his bath. So much so he throws a huge tantrum when taken out. This is how it dried while wrestling him into his pjs. It will fix itself by morning. This is after I combed it again btw.

After a few hours sewing

I have a fleece and flannel blanket for MJ for use in the car, four zippered and lined pouches. The Christmas one is for MJ's blocks he is getting for Christmas. I didn't like the container they came in. The purple and flower one are for the girls. And the red one is part of a teachers gift.

Exercise in the woods

With a little help I was able to take a picture of my one mitten. My other mittens were "borrowed" by my youngest daughter. I am not going to say what is on the mitten ; ). But the subject is having fun. ( it's easier to see from far away up close you really can't see it)

Beautiful yarn plus cute hat pattern plus actually doing a gauge swatch that said I was right on plus making the biggest size because well my little almost 8 month year old is statistically bigger then the average 1 year old equals two days of knitting a hat that would maybe fit him when he was born. Well at least I got a cute picture

I finished something

The little baby hat. It's looks like a flower but not like the pattern. Oh well it still looks cute!! I tried to get the resident cutie to model but he was more interested in chewing on it

Knitting

It has been a little more then a month but I have almost a finished hat. It will be a baby hat when done. I saw a pattern for a tulip baby hat printed out the directions and then proceeded to leave the directions behind. So with a little trial and error I was able to make something that looks almost like the picture. Hopefully it will not take a month to finish it

I actually made something and it's knitting too!! I made this for my son's orchestra teacher. She was a very special teacher and deserved something pretty

I never know what to say for post like this. I think of all the family and friends that I have/had in the military and I just can't put into words what I feel I want to say. So I will say this. I may not support the people who are putting the troops out there but I support the troops. Second. Thank you

Memorial Day Weekend

My son plays the viola and loves it. This year he entered the NYSSMA festival. He scored a 22 out of 28 which equals a excellent and a medal.

I needed to get out

Of the rut I have been in. New haircut and color definitely helped. Mj would only look at the picture on the phone the little stinker. :). Can't believe he is 3.5 months already!!!!!

Another FO!

Amazingly 2 in a week! though i am just getting to blogging now. Ah the life with a new baby! Anyhow i was asked to make a gift and here it is. A dress that becomes a tunic then a shirt as the little girl grows. Used a pretty pink cotton i had in the stash. It only took a week if knitting while nursing. Which is the only time i get to knit these days so Mj's new sweater is taking a long time but there should be enough to take a picture of soon. It is 18month size for the fall so I have time. I also am almost done with a pair of mitts I started before he was born, to match a hat I finished right before he was born. So when you see pictures nobody get shocked to see me pregnant, ok?

Off to get somethings done before Captain Crabby wakes up =)

(He is like his momma not enough sleep makes him crabby and since it is spring break well sleep is at a minimum right now)

Today

Would have been my Dad's birthday. Yesterday would have been his brother's, my uncle who was like a second father to me. I miss you both

Pixie hats for twins

A friend of the family just had twins last week. She waited to find out and had a boy and a girl. I just had to make something and thankfully with thick yarn and small heads I was able to make these hats for them. Now of course the weather has been absolutely gorgeous so they don't need them. The weather has been crazy this year!

Like the last one. There is another superman one ( that's the light blue one). Same story too. Started before Mj was born finished just a little while ago.

I finished something

A double sided receiving blanket. I did start it before MJ's birth but finished it the other day. Fabric is flannel on both sides and roughly 3 feet square. Nice and big. Makes the 9 pound babe look small. = )

I am 1 month old today!

And I weigh in at 9 lbs!!! That's 3 pounds in a month!!

My Due Date

Would have been today. But somebody was impatient. He is almost a month old (3 days to go). Last week he was 7 pounds 12 ounces, so he is easily 8+ now. Poor thing has had a rough first month. He now has a mild cold. The picture is from after a long

Had to go back to the old way of commenting. Spam found my little blog. Why I have no idea. Blogger wasn't picking it up as spam either and I really hate dealing with spam. I mean really A whole page about a hockey jersey or Uggs!?!

My life

Just a quick picture. Knitting here and there when I can to keep the sanity. Mj since being a preemie loves being right over my heart. So he is there often. He is a snuggler too and really with being such a cutie how can I say no?
