Bousta Baby

The hat is done.  Pom-pom is attached.  It has been worked. It is loved.
Last picture the hat is on Kris. Problem when other people take pictures, they don't take the ones you want. =]
My night - editing and binge watching (Dracula again on Netflix)

just need to block

Just going to tease the inside of the unblocked hat. For the knitters out there you can see the stranding becomes more consistent.  Pretty cool. The hat is currently drying.

Exhale

It's feels like it took a decade to get here but finally the last 4 years are over.

I'm mooing

Mooing. It's a thing my Aunty tells me to do to release stress when life gets crazy and stressful. Sometimes though there's a bunch of &^%$&^ in those moos. Today was just as bad. This is why I don't plan things.  On the bright side I was sent to my room again though I was not able to knit but I was able to get stuff done.

And a little self care
MOO

progress

Tonight I was  told to go to my room and stay there. He he. I needed time to just chill and so I Netflix-ed Dracula (Steven Moffet version of Bram Stokers Dracula.  Interesting twists in this modern retelling. I absolutely loved it.  I know Moffet from his Doctor Who days where there was nothing but heartache, so this was a pleasant surprise. )
I believe this is now 2.5 repeats.  I knit with one color in each hand so it's not as fast as I'm usually.   That 1.5 was done tonight.
Inside floats all nice and mostly even.

It was nice to sit and knit and actually see progress afterwards.  I so miss those days.  I guess I'll just have to be sent to my room more often. (If only that was plausible)

comfort knitting

For me any crafting is a comfort.  It's something where for just a little while I can just turn my mind off when things get hectic.  Knitting was my go to this time.  Easy and portable.
Started with yarn.  Baah! In Cherry Blossom and Periwinkle Sheep and if memory serves me it's Karin's Little Feet in Dandelion Fluff.
And here's the brim. I am making Bousta Beanie (link brings you to Shetland wool week website where the pattern is located - or there is always google) but instead of using 3 different colors I am using a solid background (the Dandelion Fluff) and a multi (Cherry Blossom) for the other two.  It will be subtle and I am liking how the two yarns look together.  Not my normal colors at all, which is a good thing.  Hopefully I will have some progress soon.  It's been a while since I've done colorwork on more then an ornament.

Anxiety much

Well I knew thing were not just magically going to poof get better once the calendar rolled over but it was not excepting an attempted coup.  Violence yes. This no.  It extremely bothers me though how they were treated. If those people were marching for Black Lives Matter you know there would have been chaos and way way more arrests(and more people shot and probably dead).  The white privilege on display was sickening.

One positive I see is now congress now knows how school children feel. Maybe they should have active shooter drills like my kids have.

Stay safe people
