What's a knitter to do

When your Mj lost his gloves and the stores have freaking swim ware out and it's only January? Make mittens of course. No pattern just made them up as I went along :) love doing that!

A sweater and some

So Mj's sweater was finished, soaked, blocked and dried. Today it finally decided not to rain. So on it went and onto the deck we went.

As a plus Kris was with me so of course I had to include her. Yes they are wearing the same pants. I made Mj a pair for his birthday - he loves the fuzzyness.

The Murph has fallen in love with my down blanket. Don't blame her it's been nasty cold and rainy of late. Bubba boy has found his spot under Ang's bed were the heat vent blows the warm air. He only leaves to eat and do his business.
And lastly my spider plant is flowering. A- this is the first time I have ever seen this. B- I didn't even know that they had flowers and C-  I guess it didn't get the memo it's January

One Plus

Of having the flu. Lots of knitting time. What a week. Tuesday Dillon, Wednesday Ang, Mj and by Wednesday night Hubby and I. Kris was and so far (knock on wood) that escaped it.
Most of us are on the upswing in various degrees. Yeah it's been fun.
Anyway here's Mj's sweater. I am now on the yoke and about an inch-ish away from the first decrease round.
I know it's not a great picture (it was cloudy and snowing today so not great light) and all the stitches are scrunched onto the needle. I want to finish the sweater this weekend. Hopefully

It does not seem like five years ago that you came into this world. How I want to slow time just a little.

Happy Birthday my little buddy boo

New Year New Projects -Lets try this again

(There was supposed to be lots of words here)

Ok let's see what did I say last night. Knitting wise I am all done with gift making. Still have a few sewing gifts to make. Anyway I started two projects on the left is the beginnings of a hat. I received Elizabeth Zimmerman's knitting workshop DVD and I'm knitting along with her. It's basically like a pbs series that goes along with her book. I am a huge fan of hers and even though I have been knitting for about 35 years (technically) I learned new things already in just a couple of episodes

The project on the right is the beginnings of a sweater for Mj. I am using one of Elizabeth Zimmerman "patterns". She was amazing you take you stitches per inch and three measurements and tada you have all you need to make a sweater. It's fun to watch it all come together

Speaking of Mj the boy loves to sit next to me when I yarn. His words. So sweet. He even hold the needles and moves them the right way. I vaguely showed him what I'm doing and he was so excited, asking questions like what if the needle come out of the loop. The boy will be five on Monday and he is a sharp cookie. You can see the wheels moving in his head as he tries to figure things out.

I'll try to get a picture next time

Well I think that's mostly what I said. Oh wait the yarn is from my friend Karin. Love the colors and they are two different ones. Mine is pretty and his is beautiful according to Mj.  Well I am off to go get said Mj from school
