Back to spinning

As I was putting stuff away I came across my spindles. Being the ADD personality that I am I have been spinning on it for the pass two days and finished the 2 ounces. (I split the roving in half -2ounces is about what can fit in my spindle)
I love how the sheep pop when the spindle is full
Very full spindle
And off the spindle. You can see the color progression. Now to spin the other 2 ounces

Another Graham Hat

A little over a week ago I had to go pick up Code-man from college. One of my best friends just happens to live 5 minutes away from the university. This time I got to see he studio. She is an amazing dyer of yarn. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out how to sneak her stock out without her knowing:)

The sweetheart that she is ended up giving me two skeins. One for helping her label about 20 skeins. I love it. My girls said it looked like my Loki figure
Yes it does seem to go with him

Then this one is the gift. Pictures do not do justice to the colors of her yarn. I so wished I lived closer. I wound up this skein right away and since it is an aran weight and only one skein I needed something small. I also needed a travel project and wanted something that didn't require too much thinking. So I went to the defaul Graham Hat.
This is where I am tonight. I included both pictures just to try to show the colors of this yarn.
I love her yarn. She is the dyer begin The Periwinkle Sheep. She has expanded to selling her yarns in yarn stores and festivals. I'm proud of her and how far she has come. Though I can say I knew her before she was famous :)

Happy First Day of Spring

This is the picture I took about 5 minutes ago. We are supposed to get about 6" but there's about 4" already so we might get more. So far Mother Nature has over achieved in almost every storm so far so it will not be a surprise.

Finished

Well since I have three kids getting ready for NYSSMA you have sometime on my hands. Three lessons a week until the last week in April equals this

Finished socks. Of course I have to wait. It's too warm for them now.

Happy St.Patrick's Day

This morning I finished my first Pi sick. Knitting goes fast in thick yarn.
So from left to right are the numbers of Pi represented by number of row in alternating colors.
So
3 rows of dark green
1 of the lighter green
Continuing on 4159292653589793. The toe isn't included.

I have plenty of yarn left but I am thinking of switching the starting color from dark green to light just to mix it up

Happy Belated Pi Day

I started a new pair of Pi socks yesterday to celebrate Pi day. Of course the day went by so slow that I didn't take a picture of them. So they are a day late.

A little hard to see but the sock so far shows 3.1415926535. It's hard to see the stripes in the ribbing. Oh well I'm too far and lazy to redo them:). They are my socks anyway.

I Did Something Important Today

I try to donate as much as possible and today was my kids elementary school blood drive. It took less then an hour and was painless- really didn't feel the needle at all- and it saves lives. Donated blood saved my brother and I's life. It's my way of saying thank you.

Knitting time

NYSSMA time again. This year my three oldest are participating. Which means for me time sitting around waiting during lessons. Good thing I knit :)

Pictured is the beginnings to the second sock I started over 2 years ago. It's about time I get these done.

Another Graham hat

This one was commissioned though. I am still not tired if the pattern though (this one is number 4) which is strange because I usually get tired of a pattern just doing it once.

Color better in the second one
