Pride goeth before the fall

I was feeling a little smug. I found a free tatting pattern and I understood it.
As one of my children said it looks like a math problem.
Well, anyway I was tatting along and it was looking like the picture.
Then I noticed something. I totally forgot to connect the little picots on one side
Here I stretched it out. It's connected on the right side but not the left. I have no idea why I did this or in this case didn't do it. Anyway I just ended it and it in the mess up pile. I can take the second round off and try again but I needed time away from it.

Not to give up I made these
A basic butterfly and I guess you could call the second one a wreath.

All part of the learning process

Proverbs 16:18

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
(Original King James version)

Pedanticism aside, the tatting is looking better and better. Very pretty!

I still want to know how you stiffen and/or block the finished product. And can you give a scale for what you're doing? Are these little bippits an inch across or more or less? Is it special thread?

Anyway, glad to see you're keeping yourself busy! lol

Love and smoochies to you all!
