Crocheting!?!?! Yes I do crochet. When my Mommy taught me how to knit and crochet at 5, crocheting stuck while I once and a while knitted. It stayed this way until about 2.5 years ago when knitting and crocheting switched places. Well my hooks have been calling since I see M (she is the co worker I taught to knit and crochet - she like crochet better and cane crochet a storm now) almost everyday crocheting. So I dug out my hook last night and made a wash cloth today.
Just simple single crochet but it was really quick and since I have a ton of Sugar 'n' Cream cotton I think I will be making more of these.
Knitting, yes I still do knit. =) Here is Bellatrix.
Yes I shorten the leg. I like my socks short.
Clue 1 of Mystic Light is done!!!
Look lumpy lace picture on a short needle. I am loving how it is coming out (trust me it will be beautiful)
Secret knitting - nothing more can be said but I am almost halfway done
A little sewing. I lined a bag that has been waiting for it's lining for about a year
Hopefully it will not take a year to sew on the handles.
I also sewed the pillow together, but couldn't finish it since well I have no more stuffing.
Latest spinning. This is Femme which I finally finished spinning up.
My spinning buddy

Post 101
I missed my 100th post. I have been watching and counting and thinking of ways to make it the big 100 and I missed it. Oh Well. Hopefully I will remember my blogiversary.
My package from Loopy Ewe arrived yesterday.
This roving reminds me of a country song from years ago by Marty Stewart (I think) Tempted. When I saw this , the song just popped in my head.
Here is Tempted's"'Femme"
4 oz of 80% merino and 20% silk....oooooooo.....
I think I am going to try a different way of plying with this one when I spin it up
This is Lone Star Arts' Burn
100% superwashed Merino
Lastly is The Dyeing Arts' Viole(n)t
8oz of 100% superwashed Merino
Next time knitting. Just to prove that I still remember how =)
Oh I almost forgot, one of the coolest things happened the other day. My Mommy told me she wants to learn how to knit socks!!!! Yes (doing the happy dance) it only took 2 years to get her knitting again but I did it!!! Yeah!!!!
Puppy Pictures
Snickers with her ducky. Shewolfy - this is the only toy she has not gutted in 2 minutes and she hasn't really tried to either. My fingers are crossed that this one stays together. The last toy I bought she had destroyed (as in stuffing exploded all over the living room) within no lie 3 minutes.
I love her paws, they are all furry.
her cold weather genes are showing
=)

More spinning and a little knitting
I have been spinning up a storm over here and I have spun most of my roving stash (which was teeny tiny anyway) There is more on its way and more to be ordered.
I spun up Hearts Afire.
95% BFL
5% icicle
3.1 oz
Before
Now it is 192 yards of mostly fingering weight
I also spun up Mermaid from Enchanted Knoll Farm
100% merino
4 oz
Before
After 99 yards of worsted weight squishy-ness
This one is my favorite so far.
Here is the reason behind the hanks (and knowing how much yarn I have made)
Hand made by a friend of my mothers who is a great wood worker. All he had to do was look at the picture and in less then an hour (!!!!!!) it was done. It is nicely made and I am so loving it.
I finished Mindless John B socks. I finished them on saturday night.
I enjoyed the yarn (Claudia's Hand Painted Short sport in colorway John B) and I liked the colors in the hank but once I started knitting it up I wasn't thrilled as much. I have other colors on my wish list and these sock are in a new home being enjoyed
Snickers and what the Easter Bunny brought her
The flash makes her look like she is possessed =)

I have yarn =)
I loved Abby's comment about basically falling off the face of the planet. I will try not to. =) It might worry some family members that read.
I had a hard time when I started to spin. The yarn (used broadly here) came out lumpy and bumpy or it kept breaking. Then it dawned on me that I was using a roving that gave me a very hard time when I was learning to hand spin. I bought this stuff at Rhinebeck because I was told it was great stuff to learn with. Well basically I switched to other leftover stuff and it was much easier. After I spun that little bit of left over I dove right in to my roving. (cause well that what I do dive right in)
Remember this:
Well now it looks like this:
I can see that I was more even at the end of the 2nd bobin. And I totally forgot to take pictures I was having too much fun.
Now do you remember this one:
I spun the light ones together:
and the dark ones together:
Put them together and you get this:
I did all of that mostly yesterday and yes my hands are sore. Nothing like over doing it on your first try. I have no clue how much of each I have but when I get my swift I will figure out how much I do have.
I received this in the mail. It is yarn from Yarning Yenta. It is Animal from her Muppet collection
She also included a stitch marker with the order. =)
No knitting has been done, I wonder why? =)

=)
Today was Daughter's Kindergarten music show. She has been practicing for weeks (sometimes loudly) The show was great
We were home by 10:30 then the waiting began. Why does time go soooo ssssslllloooowwwww when you are waiting for something. When Hubby was going off to work the lovely brown truck pulled up.YEAH!!!
Here it is:
*2 hours later...
I haven't spun anything yet on it. Once I was done putting it together I had to start dinner. We just finished dinner so I am posting that I have my wheel and now I am going to go play with my wheel
Oh Aunty what do you think?
* I am sure it takes normal non-RA people much less time
=)

Holy Yarn Batman!!!!
Sorry I couldn't help that. =) WARNING: this post contains many pictures of yarn, it may cause drooling or urges to buy yarn.
Wheel Update: Delivery expected date - 3/19
Saturday was Yarn day! It all started when Hubby took me to the new yarn store (that is only 10 minutes away - YIPEE!!!). Hubby's Mom took all the kiddies to the movies so it was just the 2 of us and a yarn store. We got there when it just open and oh all the yarn. Wait the store is The Village Knitter. The owner (who I forgot her name - sorry) was wonderful. It was so nice to talk to some one where you do not have to explain anything. I am so going back. (What yarn diet?) Then when we got home the mail was in and my order from the Loopy Ewe was here!
Lets start the drooling with the Loopy Ewe yarns, shall we?
The next 2 yarns are from Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Dk in
Northern Lights
Turtle Cove
I also got the little mini keychain sock blocker
Now for the haul from The Village Knitter
Here is a yarn from Cape Cod. The women dyes the yarn in lobster pots then lets them dry in the salty sea air. Hence the name Lobster Pot yarns. Here are 2 hanks of bulky wool/mohair in Seafoam.
Here is Noro Kureyon. This is the worsted weight size of the sock yarn and well I some how manage to get the same colorway as the sock yarn. There were lots of colorways too. I must like this one.
Next is Malabrigo in Bijou Blue. I completely understand why people say Mmmmmalabrigio. This yarn is like Buttah.
Here are 4 hanks of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Bittersweet
and Purple Iris
The last yarn is Bamboo by SWTC. Something about the color called to me.
Lastly Hubby found a basket of these buttons. These 3 were my favorites and followed me home. (Click to make the pic bigger if you can not read the buttons)
When I was putting all of this lovely yarn away I re organized my stash. I have a TON of sock yarn! I had no clue how much sock yarn I have. It is ok though since sock yarn does not count as stash yarn. ; )

My Monkeys are DONE!!!
Finally they are done!! This pair of socks seemed to take forever. I used yarn form Rhinebeck from Pucker Brush farms in PA. Love the colors and they fit perfectly!! I made lots of mods on the pattern. I knitted them toe up, with the chart upside down (by mistake), short row heel and 3 repeats on the leg. Oh and I left out the last row of the chart.
(ignore the sweatpants okay?)
My birthday is coming up, yep the big 31. Anyway my mommy sent me my gifts early (yeah!)
Last 2 books from Harry Potter. I so love HP and feel silly for jumping in so late. When Order came out my mommy bought the set for the kids, well they sat there and sat there. I loved the movies and since I think the books are always better then the movies I dug them out and started ready the first one to my son. I was hooked finished the 1st book that night.
I stopped reading Order because I didn't have the other books and thought I had to wait until my birthday to get them. Now I am finishing up Order and trying really really hard not to peak.
The other gift was a gift certificate to the Loopy Ewe. It took about 1 minute for me to spend it one I redeemed it. =) Yarn is on the way here! It's a good thing. =)
Here is what Snickers thinks of store bought socks. She likes to eat them. (she knows better then to even think about trying this with knitted socks)
