Catch Up

So let's see. I finished my moms socks
Also MJ's speech teacher moved on and she was really good with him. I had to make her something.
Here's a bad picture of my pattern Huntington Cowl. She loved it.
I also have been tatting

Now my "tree" on the right need to be blocked and stiffened so it does look a little messy

And this one is called "Squared Flower Motif"
Again not stiffened

I am thinking of turning these two into ornaments.

I am starting to get the hang of it I think. My biggest problem is that most patterns are written for shuttle tatting and for some reason I can't use them to save my life. I can do needle tatting so I have to figure out the "translation" so to speak. I know now that I have said I am getting the hang of it I am just asking for trouble

Mom's sock update

Progress on sock number 2

And just because

This dogwood I passed (with the lovely dark front edge behind it- it was much darker in person). It was almost in full bloom. Most other dogwoods I've seen are just starting to bloom.

WooHoo

Ok bad picture but I made something. It's not blocked and there's a boo boo. If you look at about 12 o'clock there is an extra teal picot. It was the joining one and well I guess I couldn't count right. :)

Needle Tatting

So today I tried the needle way and honestly it was easier then the shuttles. I think because the needle keeps the stitches from flipping around it's easier to see them and not twist them. That's my third tatted circle in total (only one done on the needle) and it looks much more, even or crisper I guess. The stitches are all sitting right in that one up there. So I guess now I actually try to make something. :)
